Finally an announcement for the Netflix series about Tom Ripley arrived!

The first teaser trailer for the psychological thriller series "Ripley" arrived! This series is finally coming to the small screen this April on Netflix (it was first announced on Showtime)!
What can we expect?
The series is based on the crime novel "The Talented Mr. Ripley" written by Patricia Highsmith in 1955. In the main role is Andrew Scott as Tom Ripley, an intelligent criminal, con artist, and serial killer who always gets away with his crimes. "The Talented Mr. Ripley" is the first of five novels in which the character appears, and there is a strong possibility for more seasons if the series proves to be successful.
The plot of the series is set in 1960s New York, where we find the con man Tom Ripley, who lives until a rich man hires him to travel to Italy and try to persuade his renegade son Dickie Greenleaf ( Johnny Flynn ) to return home. Ripley's acceptance of the assignments is only the first step towards a complex life full of fraud and murder."Ripley" had been in the works for more than four years when Scott was chosen for the title role with Steven Zaillian (Oscar winner for Schindler's List ) as the main screenwriter. Filming was supposed to start in September 2020, but it was delayed for a long time so it was only in post-production last year. We are expecting a series in black and white, the vision that Zaillian immediately had for the screen. Scott and Flynn are joined by Dakota Fanning, John Malkovich, Maurizio Lombardi, Margherita Buy, and Eliot Sumner.
Recall that this isn’t the first interpretation of Highsmith’s Tom Ripley character. Matt Damon played this role in the 1999 film “The Talented Mr. Ripley.” Based on Highsmith’s novel of the same name, “The Talented Mr. Ripley” followed Tom setting off to bring Dickie Greenleaf (Jude Law) home. Gwyneth Paltrow co-starred as Marge. The film was nominated for five Academy Awards.
