Heidi Klum also couldn't resist the hated slippers: It's hard not to notice the famous German in this styling

It’s hard to believe that in 2002 when they were just being designed, crocs were just inconspicuous beach sandals. In the past 16 years, they have become the favorite footwear of chefs, kindergarten age, grandparents, hospital staff, and today they cannot be resisted by an army of fashion addicts.

Heidi Klum also couldn't resist the hated slippers: It's hard not to notice the famous German in this styling

When designed, Crocs rubber slippers were not meant to be a stylish good. On the contrary, for many years they were considered an antonym of good taste, tolerated only on the feet of people who desperately need comfortable shoes. However, despite the unattractive aesthetics, these shoes have earned a cool status on the fashion scene in recent seasons, and it all started in 2016 when designer Christopher Kane tried to make them fashion-relevant .

This famous British designer presented special versions of hated crocs in his collection for spring/summer 2017, and a year later, Georgian designer Demna Gvasalia, at the head of the fashion house Balenciaga, presented his own version of these shoes.

Compared to Kane, Gvasalia went a step further by launching crocs with a raised platform heel and adorned with numerous buckles of childlike charm. Building on the success of this updated version of crocs, the fashion house Balenciaga has once again joined forces with the famous American brand by creating fresh versions of crocs for the still current spring/summer season.

In addition to designer sizes, the fashion credibility of crocs was also supported by an army of celebrities, and this year they were also seen on the red carpet at the Oscars.

Although people still question these recognizable rubber slippers, the fact is that they have become widely accepted in times when unsightly and comfortable footwear plays a key role in the fashion scene.

Famous German model and TV personality Heidi Klum has now joined the impressive army of famous crocs fans. Her choice fell on the elevated version of the striking, yellow-colored ones, and she managed to further emphasize it with her look in a neon green jumpsuit.
