How to avoid the negative impact of autumn on mental health?
The gloomy (melancholic, gloomy, depressed) mood is common with the change of seasons, especially after the passage of summer. People feel more energetic when it is clear and sunny and more tired with the arrival of winter days when they eat more and sleep longer.
Irritable mood with the arrival of autumn affects self-confidence, decreased sex drive, loss of pleasure in activities, and less frequent socializing with friends.
The negative 'impact' of autumn and winter on mental health can be prevented by:
Going for a walk whenever time allows, because spending time outdoors is the best way to endure change and pressure.
Being physically activate to increase energy levels. Housework, gardening, or a leisurely walk can also help. Do you know that cycling and running have the same effect as antidepressants in treating mild depression?
Invest in a ‘LED’ lamp that is specially designed and helps with depression that occurs with the change of time. This form of light therapy with regular use can return the biorhythm back to normal.
Finally, try to notice and appreciate the beauties of winter, because a change of attitude works wonders.
