JENNIFER COOLIDGE: 'I ate three pizzas a day during the pandemic'
Actress Jennifer Coolidge admitted that during the pandemic she could eat as many as three pizzas a day, which she had not been doing until then.
A new comedy series 'The White Lotus' has started airing on HBO, in which Tanya McQuoid, a rich and very insecure heiress who carries her mother's urn in a suitcase, arrives at a luxury resort in Hawaii. She was embodied by American actress Jennifer Coolidge, who hitchhiked to see Hawaii during the filming, and she speaks very honestly about why she initially wanted to turn down the role.

The series was filmed in the middle of a pandemic. Did you immediately agree to star in it?
I considered it risky to travel all those planes to come to film in Hawaii. I was in New Orleans with a friend, we ate three pizzas, ice creams every day and I couldn’t be more unprepared for work.
The creator of the series Mike White persuaded you?
We've worked together before. Suddenly he called me and said I had to come to Hawaii right away because filming was starting. You know, it seemed like the world was coming to an end so when we were already on the sinking ship, why not enjoy it and that’s why I overate. I couldn't go out in front of the cameras like that. I lay in bed thinking about what I could lie to him. That's when I got his message, "Are you scared?" Like he knew how I felt. I finally agreed and it was an amazing experience.
Is it an amazing experience for you to meet your fans?
Yes, especially when I'm approached by a handsome guy ... and sometimes it's someone famous. He certainly doesn’t remember this, but I was at the supermarket one night and I see some handsome man walking towards me. He stopped, nodded, and said, "I really like everything you do." I thanked him and only then looked at him a little better - it was Ryan Gosling.
