Melania Trump calls Anna Wintour out!
The wife of former President Donald Trump is one of the few first ladies who did not appear on the cover of a prestigious fashion magazine...
Former first lady Melania Trump came to the topic of fashion magazine Vogue in a new press conversation. Namely, the wife of former President Donald Trump is one of the few first ladies who did not appear on the cover of a prestigious fashion magazine, and here is how she commented on it.
Former first lady Melania Trump was a guest on the morning TV show "Fox & Friends" last weekend. It was one of her rare appearances in the media, especially since she left the White House. On that occasion, she also spoke about the Vogue fashion magazine, for which she did not have anything nice to say.
Melania accused the prestigious fashion magazine, which has been under the firm leadership of editor Anna Wintour for decades, of bias.
The reason for the conversation was actually Vogue's cover, which featured the current first lady Jill Biden in August last year. Although Ms. Trump has nothing against Biden on the cover, she criticizes Vogue for bias when it comes to choosing people to put on her front page, especially when it comes to politically engaged ladies.
Let us remind you, that former first lady Michelle Obama appeared on the cover of Vogue three times, while Hillary Clinton managed to appear on only one. Melania, on the other hand, appeared on the cover of the fashion Bible only once in her long career, in 2005, and only because of her wedding to Donald Trump. During her stay in the White House, they did not offer her the front page, and she obviously did not take it very well.
"Regardless of your business, political and fashion experience, and of course your beauty, you were not on the cover of Vogue. What do you think about these double standards?” host Pete Hegseth asked his guest Melania, and she answered without much thought: “They have those they like and those they don't like. I think the American people see that clearly,” she said, suggesting that the fashion magazine is actually biased.
In addition, she added that she does not regret not taking pictures for Vogue during her stay at the White House. "It was their decision, and I had a much more important job than to pose for Vogue."
Interestingly, first ladies like Laura Bush, Barbara Bush, and Nancy Reagan also never got a chance to pose for Vogue's cover.
