NEWS: "Good Omens" season 3 confirmed!

Given the awkward cliffhanger of the second season, we're sure fans will be delighted to hear that Prime Video has officially approved a third season of the fantasy series "Good Omens". However, the third season will also be the last, and its filming will begin soon in Scotland.

The upcoming season will revive the conversation between Sir Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman 35 years ago when they sketched the outlines of what would happen next to these wonderful characters from the world of their bestseller. Whether you liked the second season or not, it's extremely satisfying to hear that the end of the series will be something Pratchett and Gaiman envisioned together way back.

“I'm so happy I am finally able to finish the story that Terry [Pratchett] and I planned in 1989 and 2006. Terry was determined that if we made "Good Omens" for television, we could bring the story to completion. The first season focused on preventing Armageddon, dangerous prophecies, and the end of the world. The second season was sweet and tender, although it may have ended less happily than some angels and demons hoped. Now, in the third season, we will once again deal with the end of the world. Plans for "Armageddon" go awry. Only Crowley and Aziraphale, working together, can correct this. And they don't talk." - stated Gaiman, who will also work on the third season as an executive producer, screenwriter and showrunner.

The first season of the series debuted on Amazon's Prime Video platform in 2019, and at the time it was conceived as a limited series. But the series was still approved for the second season in 2021, and now it will officially get the green light for the third season. However, some things we are used to will change, so Douglas Mackinnon, who was the second showrunner and director of the first and second seasons, will not participate in the production of the final, third season.

As for the cast, for now, we only know that David Tennant and Michael Sheen will return as Crowley and Aziraphale.
