The first trailer for the thriller "Miller's Girl" is out!

The psychological thriller "Miller's Girl" received its first official trailer, and the cast is led by Jenna Ortega and Martin Freeman.

The film centers on the unraveling of a complex connection between lonely intellectuals: a failed writer called Jonathan Miller (Freeman) and his outstanding student Cairo Sweet (Ortega). When a creative writing assignment provokes uncomfortable realities, both of them realize they’ve blurred lines beyond the academic. The pic is about the imminent, inexorable attraction between characters who become both heroes and villains in each other’s stories.

The plot 

The film follows the normally withdrawn, attentive student Cairo Sweet (Ortega) who little by little develops a dark, complex relationship with her teacher Jonathan Miller ( Freeman) after he gives her the task of writing a short story inspired by her favorite author. The tension between the teacher, who admires his gifted student, and the student herself is growing rapidly, but judging by the trailer - they don't get along well.

"You are my student and I am your teacher. That's all", said unconvincing Jonathan to Cairo in the official video. Caira's rebellious attitude puts her in an unenviable situation, and at one point we see Caira trying to convince the faculty of the correctness of their decisions and emotions, which could get them both into serious trouble.

The director of this project and the script is written by Jade Halley Bartlett. We will have the opportunity to watch, together with Ortega and Freeman, Dagmara Domińczyk, Bashir Salahuddin, Gideon Adlon and Christine Adams. Producers include Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Josh Fagen, and Mary-Margaret Kunze.

Recall, that earlier this month, foreign media revealed that Ortega’s hit Netflix series "Wednesday" would begin with shooting in late April in Ireland, after Season 1 was shot in Romania. That first season ranks as Netflix’s most popular series of all time with 252.1 million views to date.

Miller's Girl in cinemas we expect 26. January 2024.
