Olivia is dealing with postpartum depression
The star of the film hits ‘X-Men Apocalypse’ and ‘The Newsroom’ has complained that she has all the symptoms of postpartum depression that can dangerously impair mental health.
Instead of enjoying carefree motherhood, actress Olivia Munn found herself facing a major challenge. As she herself admitted on social media, she has been battling postpartum depression for some time. The mother, whose son Malcolm is only four months old, shared her problems and fears via Instagram Story.
"I suffer from terrible anxiety. I'm anxious, depressed, I don't care," Olivia Munn admitted, much to the dismay of her companions. Many are convinced that the actress has postpartum depression and they advised her to see a doctor as soon as possible.
"Postpartum depression is not a joke. If left untreated, it can be dangerous to mental health. You need to seek medical help," Olivia's follower wrote in comments.
Back in January, she discovered she was struggling with breastfeeding, which frustrated her to the point that she cried for weeks. The actress has shot several Stories on the subject, including herself with a device that improves breast milk production. In these videos, Munn detailed all the measures or possible solutions she used to breastfeed Malcolm.
“You have to make an effort even when you think you don’t have milk,” Munn wrote, along with a clip showing how to use a supplementary care device. According to what she said in the videos, the actress really tried everything.
"I had breastfeeding consultants, tried with cooked soups, drank liters of coconut water and nothing. My bathroom is full of nipple ointment and heating pads to increase circulation, I have three breastfeeding pillows and three pumps, I drink tea all the time, I take vitamins. I even wore this device filled with formula around my neck day and night with tubes glued to my nipple that stimulate milk production. And nothing! None of that worked! " Olivia shared two months ago with her fans. She also discovered that she couldn't stop crying.
"Breastfeeding is good, as is the formula. Dear mothers, the most important thing is that your baby eats," she told other mothers some time ago. If it is true that she has been facing anxiety for some time, it is easily possible that she suffers from postpartum depression, as her fans have warned her.
The boy’s father is actor and stand-up comedian John Mulaney, with whom she has been in a relationship since May 2021. Little Malcolm is Olivia and John's first child, and his first photos with the public were shared on Christmas Eve.
