Queen Elizabeth spoke of Prince Philip for the first time in public after his death
I have already spoken of my deep and eternal affection for this beautiful country and of the many happy memories that Prince Philip and I have of it, said the emotional Queen Elizabeth during a visit to Scotland
Queen Elizabeth, 95, spoke for the first time about her late husband in public after his death.
Namely, the Queen traveled to Scotland for the opening ceremony of the Parliament in Edinburgh. She addressed the members of the Scottish Parliament at the opening ceremony of the new session. She went to visit Scots who were recognized for their contribution to the community during the covid-19 pandemic.
- Today is a day when we can celebrate those who have made outstanding contributions to the lives of other people in Scotland, locally or nationally, during the covid-19 pandemic. I have already spoken of my deep and eternal affection for this wonderful country and of the many happy memories that Prince Philip and I have attached to it. It is often said that people are the ones who make up a place. And there are few places where this is a greater truth than in Scotland, as we have had the opportunity to see lately - said the Queen emotionally as the Daily Mail writes.
The Queen arrived at the official start of the Scottish Parliament session accompanied by Prince Charles and Camille.
Recall, Prince Philip died on April 9 this year at the age of 99, and it is known that he led a fulfilled life with the Queen. His wife has not spoken publicly of it so far but has paid tribute to him several times on the official Buckingham Palace website.
