Rosie O'Donnell Embrrassed In Front Of Priyanka
Although TikTok viewers revealed that they assumed Priyanka was the daughter of writer Deepak Chopra, Rosie resented the way she apologized.
According to People, legendary comedian Rosie O'Donnell (59) became embroiled in a scandal after an unpleasant meeting with one of Hollywood's most famous couples, Nick Jonas (29) and Priyanka Chopra (39).
Specifically, the 59-year-old comic said in a TikTok video that she "embarrassed" her son and his girlfriend, as well as friend and famous actress Fran Drescher, during a recent visit to the Nobu restaurant in Malibu.
Rosie sat next to Priyanka and Nick were there, and because O'Donnell "always imagined" Priyanka was connected to the author and alternative medicine advocate Deepak Chopra, 75, she highlighted this in an encounter with the pair.
When we met, I said, "Hi, Nick Jonas. You were great in the Kingdom," and then I said, "Hi, Priyanka, I know your father." She said, "Do you know who is my father? " to which I said "I know it's Deepak. Priyanka said that's not true and that Chopra is a common Indian last name. I was so ashamed of my gaffe, "the comedian says in the video.
On the other side, Priyanka's father, Dr. Ashok Chopra, died in June 2013.
O'Donnell issued a public apology to the celebrity couple after asking in the video whether she was the "only one" who thought Nick was married to Deepak's daughter.
But even that didn't go as planned, and Rosie became even more enraged as a result of the disappointed admirers.
“I apologize to Nick Jonas and his wife Chopra,” she concluded in the video.
Although some TikTok viewers said they assumed Priyanka was Deepak Chopra's daughter, others criticized how O'Donnell addressed the actress on the social media platform.
"She should first look up the actress' actual name," one reader wrote, while another stated, "Her name is Priyanka."
Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra have a unique love story.
