Shannen: ’ I don't want to act like I'm dying'

Shannen Doherty has turned 51, and this actress has become a symbol of the fight against breast cancer she has been suffering from since 2015. She gained fame with the series 'Beverly Hills 90210', which has been broadcast on small screens since the '90s.

Fighting cancer

‘On the occasion of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I would like to share with you more about my journey from the first to the second diagnosis. Is everything nice? No, but it’s honest and I share this with the hope that I will educate people and give them a little better idea of what cancer looks like. I hope to encourage others to go for mammograms regularly and overcome the fear of possible bad results' she said.
'I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. I underwent mastectomy and chemotherapy and radiation treatments. I often had a nosebleed from chemotherapy. I don't know if any of you have experienced this. I amused myself by wearing funny pajamas given to me by my friend. Did they actually improve my mood? Yes! I looked hilarious and laughed to myself. Humor helped me get through what seemed impossible. I hope we will all be able to find humor in impossible situations, ' Shannen wrote.
Shannen also spoke about her serious illness recently on the show 'Good Morning America'.
'I don't want to act like I'm dying. I want to work and act like nothing is happening because I will fight to stay alive, ' she said at the time. The news that her illness was in the fourth stage was revealed in February 2020, three years after she was found to be in remission.
