English singer Ed Sheeran may be one of the most loved and respected performers today, but the neighbors of the author of the hit "Shape of You" do not have such a nice opinion of him. The British musician has been at war with his neighbors for the last few days for an extremely bizarre reason - because of the chapel and the tomb.
Actually, Ed Sheeran plans to build a private chapel on his property, which will include his tomb, which, in the opinion of his neighbors, is almost unacceptable. The construction of the chapel was approved in 2019, which does not bother the neighbors as much as the idea to build a tomb nearby. According to the New York Post, Sheeran will probably get the green light to build the tomb despite the opposition of his neighbors.
-“This area has a lot of beautiful churches and I don't think there is a need for a famous person to build another one. The mere fact that a celebrity wants a grave far away from the rest of the population is an indication that something is wrong with the modern world. Are celebrities so detached from reality that their every breath, and now even death, must be so detached from other 'ordinary' people?” - was the comment of Anna Woods, one of Sheeran's neighbors.
Although his neighbors are against this plan, local authorities do not mind. Actually, in England and Wales, there are no laws that would prohibit the burial of a body on private property.
