Simon Cowell leaves television due to severe accident in May
Cowell had an accident in the backyard of a house in Malibu when he fell off an electric bicycle. He had spinal injuries and was in surgery for more than six hours
Simon Cowell, 61, has been an unavoidable face of British and American television for 20 years. He worked as a jury member on X Factor and America's Got Talent, and was supposed to be on the new music show ‘Walk The Line’.
However, due to a severe accident in May when he fell off an electric bicycle in his backyard in Malibu, he has now decided to dedicate himself more to his son Eric and partner Lauren.

The surgery lasted six hours, and there was a fear that he would become paralyzed and unable to walk. After the accident, he did not appear in public too much.
"I feel really lucky. Millimeters separated me from a more serious injury. I also didn’t get COVID because I couldn’t travel,” he said after the accident.
