The Cannes Film Festival announced the names of the jury members!
The Cannes International Film Festival announced the composition of the jury chaired by the American director Spike Lee. The majority of the members of the jury, from five continents, are women, it is stated in the announcement.
The jury consists of French-Senegalese director Mati Diop, South Korean actor Song Kang-Ho. singer Mylene Farmer, actors Tahar Rahim and Maggie Gyllenhaal, authors Kleber Mendonça Filho, Jessica Hausner, and Melanie Laurent.
This year, 24 films will compete for the Palme d'Or, including the works of the Italian Nani Moretti, the American Sean Penn, the Russian Kiril Serebrennikov, and the Frenchman Jacques Audiard.
In the race for the Palme d'Or of the festival from July 6 to 17, there will be four films whose authors are directors.
More than 60 films will be screened during the festival.
American actress and director Jodie Foster will receive the honorary Golden Palm.
