The end of the drama? Britney Spears' father asks for termination of conservatorship: 'I wish my daughter all the best'

Jamie Spears has asked a Los Angeles court to end his 13-year conservatorship of his daughter and pop singer Britney Spears, media reported on Wednesday, Reuters reports.

The singer's father filed a lawsuit in August in which he said he was willing to give up the role of guardian. In the new document, he was even clearer and asked the court to terminate the conservatorship completely.

He wrote that the singer 'has the right for the court to seriously consider whether a conservatorship is necessary' and that her circumstances have changed 'to the extent that the grounds on which conservatorship was granted to him may no longer exist', US media reported.

- I wish her all the best, she should get a chance to prove herself. I believe she is now able to manage her own life, ”Jamie added.

At a hearing in June, Britney Spears told the court that custody, which began in 2008, was offensive and humiliating, and asked that her father be deprived of the right to manage her $ 60 million property.

A court hearing to discuss Britney Spears’ motion is scheduled for Sept. 29 in Los Angeles.
