The hobbits have a WhatsApp group

A few days ago it was the 20th anniversary of the premiere of ' The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring '. To celebrate such an event, Elijah Wood (Frodo), Sean Astin (Sam), Billy Boyd (Pippin), Dominic Monaghan (Merry), Orlando Bloom (Legolas), Andy Serkis (Gollum), and Hugo Weaving (Elrond) attended the program of Stephen Colbert, 'The Late Show', to mark a rap about the saga.

Now, Wood himself has confirmed in an interview with Esquire that he maintains a great relationship with his former co-stars, especially with the four actors who played the Hobbits alongside him in the mythical film trilogy based on the JRR Tolkien's books. The actor explains to the media that the quartet has created a WhatsApp group by which they send the most affectionate messages"[Astin, Boyd, and Monaghan] the other day they went out to dinner and they sent me a picture of my chair, although I wasn't there, which is very, very sweet"

In addition, he regrets how difficult it is for him to meet his friends in person: "We text each other in the mornings, like 'let's go for a coffee.' Probably, we have not been able to meet like this [all together] for 16 years ". It should be noted that the filming in New Zealand of the three films of Middle-earth lasted 438 days, from the end of 1999 to the year 2000. So much time spent together, according to Wood, this beautiful friendship was forged: "That will bind us for always ".

The books have not been read

The star also confesses that surprisingly, the original novels have yet to be read! "The book is dense and detailed and incredible and literary and beautiful, but heavy. I found it exhausting to read the book with all the work that went into making my character. Somehow I pivoted my approach to living in the world of the character as it is written on the scripts and trusting the process. I still haven't read it, 20 years later. It's ridiculous that I haven't. It's the cross I carry with me. It's so silly. Everybody else has read it . "
