TikTok: videos up to 10 minutes

We witnessed how this popular social network received its first big update a few months ago, with the introduction of the video format of up to three minutes in length. However, it appears that TikTok's ambitions are higher, as the business has stated that it would allow users to post films of up to 10 minutes in length, double the time of the previously tested format.

However, unlike the original enhanced format, consumers do not appear to be enthusiastic about this integration, having already expressed their dissatisfaction and even rejection on social networks. Although it is evident that if the social network chooses this long-term format after the initial experiments with the 5-minute format, it is because a significant portion of its users is interested in these formats.

And, while TikTok was founded on short and viral videos, it has surely evolved into sketches or short videos with slightly lengthier formats. And it is that the social network's popularity is growing, with the goal of attracting and retaining the greatest number of new members possible, resulting in the advent of new content creators.

"TikTok has ridden the wave of popularity," Wired said last week, "but to expand its revenue sustainably, it needs longer movies, ones that grab more attention and allow it to sell more commercials."

Since 2012, YouTube has stressed "view time" as a statistic, suggesting that it will phase out the prevalence of "click-bait" thumbnails and reward videos that kept users genuinely interested. Other creators, such as Twitch live streamers, endure these practices on a daily basis.

However, there is still a significant difference in how the two platforms compensate creators for their work. TikTok's current monetization schedule is far less equal than YouTube's industry-leading income split. Nonetheless, the allure of new producers and media may result in a significant paradigm change.

Snapchat let you change your username

While TikTok appears to be progressively absorbing users from all social networks, many people continue to utilize the platforms that gave birth to many of TikTok's favorite features, such as Snapchat. However, the bulk of users who began using this social network a few years ago have numerous regrets about their selected names.

And it is that for years, Snapchat has severely restricted the change of these account names, with the only method to change our username being to delete our account and start a new one, losing data such as our list of friends, memories, instant score, and so on. Something that will, at long last, alter.

Recently introduced as a test, it appears that the business has now chosen to make this option available to all iOS and Android customers. In this manner, anyone would be able to change their Snapchat handle without having to create a new account and start again. We will, however, have a slight limitation in that we will only be able to change our name once a year.

Snap realized that people grow and develop with time and that many of them may not want to continue with a horrible username they created a decade ago, possibly during their adolescence.

As a result, changing our profile name will be a breeze. We will simply need to launch our Snapchat app on our mobile device, visit our profile, and enter our account's configuration choices. Once here, we may select the new option "Change username" by pressing our username.
