Tilda Swinton in an unusual Cannes outfit

When American-British actress Tilda Swinton appeared at the premiere of her new film “Three Thousand Years of Longing,” many noticed that she was dressed quite conventionally given the combinations we normally see her in.
The famous 61-year-old has long been known (and recognized) in fashion circles for her great style of dress, flirting with androgynous pieces, and great love for non-traditional cuts, so the dress in which she stepped on the red carpet was really a surprise.
She wore a beautiful dark blue dress from the Chanel fashion house with a decorated collar from their collection for autumn/winter 2022. At the premiere of the film "RMN", she came in the role of a guest, and for the occasion, she chose a creation that was much more in line with her style.
“That's it, only Tilda knows how to wear it”, is the conclusion of one Instagram user. He was delighted by the actress’ outfit with the signature of the fashion house Alaïa, designed by their creative director Pieter Mulier.
It is a look from the RTW collection of the brand for autumn/winter 2022, which consists of an oversized white dress and a black jacket. The dress is actually an effective and interesting interpretation of a classic white shirt, which in Mulier's performance becomes an unusual mermaid evening gown.
And while fans of her style are thrilled with this release, classics have resented her lack of typical Cannes glamor. “A total failure, this has nothing to do with beautiful dresses”, commented one disgruntled critic. Tilda is not only pleased with this creation, but for the official photoshoot before the premiere she also chose a long shirt-dress with Mulier's signature, but a model with a classic cut and a light blue shade.
By the way, Tilda is enjoying her love life with 17 years younger boyfriend, Sandro Kopp. The couple met in 2004 on the set of “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe”, and they soon began a relationship, although she was living with her 21-year-older unmarried husband, Scottish painter and playwright John Byrne.
