Today we know Penn Badgley best as a vicious killer, but this cute boy from the beginning of his career is impossible to recognize!

American actor Penn Badgley became famous for his roles in the series "Gossip Girl" and "You" because of which he found himself in the spotlight these days, but his acting career began long ago.

Today, 34-year-old Penn moved to Los Angeles as an 11-year-old boy along with his mother Lynne, and just a year later he got his first role in the popular sitcom “Will & Grace”. In a short scene, he played a bully who teases another child, insinuating that he is gay. Now clips of the same have appeared in which Penn does not look like himself at all and it is impossible to recognize him.

After the series "Will & Grace", he got the main role in the films "Do-Over", "The Mountain" and "The Bedford Diaries", but his role in Dan Humphrey in the series "Gossip Girl" brought him world fame.

I was frustrated, broke, and depressed and I thought I wouldn’t be able to do it,” he admitted in an interview with Vulture in 2012, adding that he accepted it just when he was planning to start working as a waiter.

“Gossip Girl” ended airing in 2012, after which Penn got several film roles, and returned to the big door again in 2018 as Joe Goldberg in the series “You,” whose latest season began airing these days.

Just as was the case with the role of Dan, the actor admitted that he hesitated and accepted the role of Joe and that at first, he did not like the idea of embodying the character of a serial killer.

"I didn't want that because it was all too much for me. I was in conflict with the nature of his character," he told Entertainment Weekly in 2018.

However, the creators of the series felt he was great for the role because he could perfectly portray Joe’s humanity.

"To be honest, at first I had no interest in showing that side of him and I wanted to be spared that. But then I realized that as an actor I can bring that character to life, and that's the whole point," Penn explained and seems to have made the right decision because the fourth season of the hit series has been officially confirmed.
