Whistling in "The X-Files" is taken from legendary band's song

If you've watched the "X-Files" series, you probably remember the eerie main opening theme in which whistling predominates. The ominous sound is based on the famous guitar riff of the song "How Soon Is Now?" by The Smiths. This song was created back in 1984 and it was written by the Smiths' singer Morrissey and guitarist Johnny Marr. It was released as a single in Britain in 1985 and was ranked 24th on the UK Singles list. Johnny Marr stated in a 2007 interview that the song "How Soon Is Now?" is probably the longest-running song by The Smiths. "I think it's most people's favorite," said Johnny Marr. By the way, the song was recorded by Johnny Marr with bandmates Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce at London's Jam Studios. The three of them celebrated the successful recording of the songs "William, It Was Really Nothing" and "Please Please Let Me Get What I Want", and the following afternoon "How Soon Is Now?"
