William Shatner responds to Prince William's criticism: 'He's got the wrong idea'

Acting legend William Shatner, 90, launched a rhetorical rocket at Prince William after he criticized space tourism, writes CNN.

Shatner, who is the oldest person to fly into space, said Prince William “has the wrong idea” because he argued earlier this week that solving problems on Earth should be given priority over tourist travel into space.

"He's a lovely Englishman. He's going to be king of England one day, He's a lovely, gentle, educated man, but he's got the wrong idea," Shatner said during an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

He stressed that space travel is a small step towards relocating industries that pollute Earth into space and that the energy production base could be built 250 kilometers above the Earth and used to supply houses and businesses. “The prince doesn’t get the point,” he added.

Recall, Prince William, the day after Shatner went into space, criticized billionaires Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk for their space races.

We need to focus some of the world’s greatest minds on trying to fix this planet, not on finding the next place to live,” he said.
