Popular 23-year-old Mexican fitness influencer and bodybuilder Odalis Santos Mena has died after undergoing unsuccessful surgery to prevent profuse sweating.
The surgery allegedly tried to get rid of excess underarm sweat by using heat energy to remove sweat glands, which soothes body odor and even reduces underarm hair.
However, after receiving anesthesia, Mena suffered a heart attack and soon died.
On social media, the influencer promoted the clinic she went to for surgery, saying the surgery was safe and effective.
Police found that her death was caused by negligence because the anesthesia was given to her by someone who was not a trained anesthesiologist.
