Actress and producer Pat Hitchcock, the only child of the famous Alfred Hitchcock, has died at the age of 93
The only child of film icon Alfred Hitchcock, actress, and producer Pat Hitchcock, died on Monday in California, her youngest daughter, Katie Fiala, has confirmed.
Pat has appeared in a number of her father’s films, including ‘The Stranger on the Train’, ‘Psycho’ and ‘Stage Fright’. She has also participated in other productions on big screens and TV series, and has been featured in 10 episodes of ‘Alfred Hitchcock Presents’. Pat’s mother, who was married to director Alfred for 54 years, was editor and screenwriter Alma Revill. Despite moving to the U.S. from England at the age of 10, Pat always emphasized how she grew up as an English child, and how she was very close with her dad as she grew up.
- There was nothing unusual about that. Just like with any other actor, we would talk about the scene and how we did it, Pat said of working with her father.
On social media, many expressed condolences. One Twitter user wrote: RIP Pat Hitchcock, daughter of Alfred, herself a huge actress. It was my privilege to meet her and talk to her 20 years ago when she attended the Reno Film Festival. I will never forget the wonderful conversation we had, while another commented: Pat Hitchcock has not been in many films, but she has certainly left an impression in several of them in which she has appeared, especially in ‘The Stranger on the Train’.
