Former acting partners of one of the most successful Hollywood comedians, Jerry Lewis, have filed charges of sexual abuse and harassment against the famous comedian and actor. Actresses Karen Kramer and Hope Holiday spoke in a short film that was made in collaboration with Vanity Fair and filmmakers Amy Ziering and Kirby Dick. They previously worked together on the documentary series 'Allen v. Farrow'.
Vanity Fair on Wednesday unveiled a short film called “The Dark Side of a Hollywood Icon”.
Kramer says she met Lewis through a young actor she was dating at the time. Lewis offered her to play “his main lady” in an upcoming film. Kramer agreed to meet Lewis, then a big star. She said he promised her that he would triple her salary and she would have a “fantastic wardrobe”. He also said that she would have a designer and on the set, she would be “treated like a lady”. That was an offer she couldn't refuse, so she agreed.
Lewis was very specific about how he wanted Kramer to be dressed for his film. Kramer stated that she thought that he wanted to be involved in the whole process. She thought that he wanted to look at sketches of clothes, to see what her film clothes look like but everything was a mask. 'He grabbed me and started petting me,' she said. She stated he was angry and he said that he was not rejected by any women.
