We reveal everything you need to know about microneedling, one of the most popular treatments at the moment in the fight against wrinkles, enlarged pores, but also other skin problems.
The expression "everything for beauty" is gaining more and more importance with each new method of rejuvenation, and we present you one of those that has been buzzing about networks in recent months, but not much is known.
It is a microndeedling in which more and more people swear, and during which certain regions of the face are treated with micro-needles in order to treat acne, even out complexions, and restore elasticity. It is mainly used on the face, neck, and décolleté, and the micro-injuries that occur during this procedure are invisible to the naked eye. They stimulate natural regeneration, because in the phase of self-healing there is an increased production of connective tissue cells, and thus collagen.
What does the procedure look like?
First of all, it is a procedure that improves circulation and helps active substances to penetrate deeper into the skin and work more efficiently. The skin is usually first treated with mild exfoliation, after which some of the serums such as peptides, hyaluronic acid, retinol, or vitamin C are applied, and only then is the micronedeeling done. Then a special light mask is put on.
The microneedling itself is performed using a specially designed pen topped with sterile disposable needles. Depending on the condition of the skin, the type of problem and the part of the body being treated, the length of the needles varies from 0.25 to 3 millimeters.
Is it painful and how long does it last?
The process itself does not take more than half an hour, although the time increases if you combine it with other treatments. Those who have tried microneedling describe it more as uncomfortable than as painful, but if you feel that you cannot bear the discomfort, you can always ask for a local anesthetic. Also, redness occurs after the treatment, but it disappears in 24 to 48 hours if your skin is extremely sensitive.
Positive aspects of microneedling:
Like other beautification techniques, this one has a number of positive aspects such as:
- Brightening acne scars
- Soothing fine wrinkles
- Enhance the effectiveness of care products
- Skin rejuvenation, especially after sun damage
- Restoration of elasticity
- Slowing down skin aging
- Relieve stretch marks and rosacea
- Removes age spots and blemishes on the skin
Experts advise that after 30, and especially after 40, microneedling is used not only regularly but also in combination with other treatments such as radiofrequency.
