Audi A6 Avant e-tron: Faithful to caravans

The new Audi A6 Avant e-Tron electric concept car, based on the A6 Avant and Audi's future PPE platform, has been revealed as the vehicle that will be the future of luxury cars.

Audi introduced its future luxury product from the top of the range, the Audi A6 Avant e-Tron, as part of the company's customary annual press conference this week.

The Audi A6 Avant e-Tron will be a fully electric station wagon built on Audi's future PPE platform. Externally, it is almost identical to the A6 Sportback e-Tron, measuring 4.96 meters long, 1.9 meters wide, and 1.44 meters high.

Audi defines this concept with the top attributes that the new electric station wagon may offer, in addition to an exceptionally appealing look. Mention is made of 800-volt technology, fast charging of 270 kW batteries, and even a WLTP cycle range of 700 kilometers on a single charge.

Despite the fact that it is a station wagon, which was supposed to be "dead" in the era of SUVs and light and aerodynamic electric vehicles, the new A6 Avant could resurrect this class with its athletic attributes - accelerating from zero to 100 km/h in less than 4 seconds.

The battery should have a capacity of 100 kW, and charging should take less than 25 minutes to charge it from 5 to 80 percent, with 10 minutes of rapid charging providing an additional 300 km range. The electric motor's overall output will be up to 470 horsepower, with 800 Nm of torque and the famed Quattro all-wheel drive.

Sporty elements like 22-inch wheels and short overhangs, as well as a dynamic roof curve, make the Avant both edgy and elegant. It should have an air resistance coefficient of 0.24.

Audi has made a special effort to highlight the A6 Avant concept's LED lighting features. The use of Digital Matrix LED lighting and OLED technology will allow for the projection of greeting messages on the ground when opening the door, as well as the projection of turn signal signs on the road in all four corners of the car.

When the car is hooked into a charger or parked in a garage and there is a wall in front of it, the wall can be used to project video game images for the driver and passengers to play in the cab.

In addition to traditional signal lights, the rear LED strip can provide a totally individualized light signature that is controlled by the car owner.

According to Audi, the first serial copies of the A6 Avant e-Tron will be exhibited during the following year.
