Chaz Bono used to be a woman, but the son of Cher became happy only when he changed his gender: It was hard for me

Chaz Bono (51) is the only child of the famous couple Cher (75) and the late Sonny Bono and was born as a baby girl Chastity. Chaz first discovered he was gay and then transgender, in 2009. He then began the transition to a man, which was finalized in 2012, when he also underwent gender reassignment surgery and legally changed his name.

As Oprah, 67, said in an interview, life before the transition was not easy for him.

- I felt like a boy as a child, and when I entered puberty and got curves, it terrified me. I felt like my own body was betraying me because it was doing everything the opposite of how I was feeling. Life before the transition was really hard, he said.

With the help of surgery and hormone therapy, Chaz became a man who was satisfied with his appearance. The paparazzi recently photographed him while shopping in Los Angeles, and he was wearing a relaxed and comfortable combination.

Cher explained why it was difficult for her to accept her son's change at first:

- I heard his old voice on the answering machine and it was very difficult for me. I soon realized that I had not lost him, but he was only in another form - she told CNN.

Cher is a well-known legend and icon of the LGBTQ + community, as she has always supported them and fought for their rights.
