"Doctor Who" Christmas Specials Are Officially Back!

After David Tennant regenerated into Ncutija Gatwa in the last special episode of the "Doctor Who" series, we finally have the opportunity to see the first trailer for the upcoming adventures of the new Doctor. The newly released announcement of the Christmas special brings us a meeting between the Fifteenth Doctor and his newest companion Ruby Sunday ( Millie Gibson ). It sounds interesting!

The trailer reveals the duo trapped inside a ship controlled by mysterious goblins, and Ruby discovers what it's like to travel with the Time Lord. Namely, the new era of the cult series will start with new adventures this Christmas. We must say that it is a pleasant surprise!

What can we expect?

Before Gatwa took over the reins of the TARDIS, Tennant briefly returned to his iconic role to celebrate the show's 60th anniversary, taking over the sonic screwdriver from Thirteenth Doctor Jodie Whittaker.

The special anniversary adventure reunited Tennant's Doctor with his companion Donna Noble ( Catherine Tate ), and they found themselves facing the Toymaker ( Neil Patrick Harris ). Only a genius scientist could stop the evil Toymaker's plans, but this solution came at a great cost and the Fourteenth Doctor had to regenerate after a very short time in that form. Gatwa has taken on the iconic role, and after the Christmas special arrives this Christmas, Gatwa will play the Doctor for at least two seasons. The first episodes are not expected until next year, but it has not yet been revealed exactly when.

Recall that soon it will be 60 years since the first episode aired, and "Doctor Who" is still popular thanks to the Doctor's unique way of self-regenerating. Speaking of which, fans were certainly at least somewhat surprised, if not shocked at the end of the previous special, when Jodie Whittaker's Thirteenth Doctor regenerated into a new incarnation in the form of David Tennant.

NEW: The animated adventure "The Boy and the Heron" achieved fantastic success!
