Drone: DJI Matrice 30 Enterprise
The majority of drones are "afraid" of flying into the rain. Even greater winds destroy some of the uses. DJI takes on the weather with the Matrice 30 Enterprise, a drone that can fly in bad weather without causing a fuss.
Is your drone weather resistant? DJI is pushing the limits of what conditions this type of flying controlled equipment may be operated in. So far, the company's portfolio has included machines that have improved splash resistance but are still not advised for use in heavy rain or snow. It's time for a true warrior.
The DJI M30 Enterprise is prepared for any situation. The maker guarantees that it can be used in severe rain, strong winds, at high elevations, and even in extremely cold temperatures as low as -20 ° C. It can even withstand desert heat, working in temperatures as high as 50 degrees Celsius.
It is not meant for inexperienced users. It's industrial machinery. And, despite the fact that it will mostly be utilized by wealthy enterprises and government agencies, DJI designed the Matrice 30 Enterprise to be tiny enough to be carried in a backpack. It is similar to the Mavic in this regard because its arms are not tightened (as in prior Matrice versions), but rather unfurled, like in lesser models.
This isn't the only new thing. The M30 has a maximum flight time of 41 minutes, which is unlikely to break any records. The drone, on the other hand, may return to a specific fold-out base that can be stowed, for example, on the trunk of a pickup truck. This gives you the ability to deploy the drone on entirely autonomous missions.
The docking station includes a weather station, surveillance cameras, antennas, and 25-minute automatic quick battery charging. It can also support a drone that can fly up to 7 kilometers distant.
For the time being, most regions' laws prohibit its use; even long-range industrial drones must be controlled by a pilot using a controller. The drone base requires additional power and internet connectivity, but it also has a built-in battery and the ability to connect to a 4G network.
The video camera on the drone includes a 1/2 ′′ CMOS matrix with a resolution of 48 Mpix, optical zoom 5x 16x, and digital zoom 200x. A 12-megapixel wide-angle camera should be added to this.
The video was shot in 4K at 30 frames per second, and the images were captured in 8K. A laser rangefinder with a range of up to 1,200 meters is included in the specification. The M30T is also available in an enhanced version with an additional 640 x 512-pixel thermal camera.
In addition, the housing features six-way obstacle avoidance sensors. Surprisingly, the drone can land in an emergency even after losing one of its four propellers (although only in the M300RTK version ).
DJI's latest product prices begin at $10,000. The M300 RTK and M30T models are at least $ 14,000 each. They are all delivered with a new controller with a 7-inch screen that is rainproof according to the IP54 standard.
