eFootball 2022: Release of version 1.0 in April

Konami has set a release date for eFootball 2022 version 1.0. The upgrade is expected to arrive on April 14th, saving the football game.

On July 21, 2021, Konami announced the next installment of the PES series, which will now be known as eFootball vs. FIFA. Since September 30th, 2021, everyone can play eFootball for free. The "fully updated" engine, which mixes Fox's own development with Unreal Engine 4, is unappealing to the vast majority of Steam users.

So you're bothered by the awful duel behavior of the virtual kickers, and the ball has a weight of several hundred pounds that you can feel. Furthermore, the display is set to 60 frames per second.

Konami apologized to players and promised that version 1.0.0 would be released in November. The saving update, however, had to be postponed until spring 2022. The Japanese are now promising that April 14th will be the day.

Konami says in a blog post that they were too focused on delivering the football game to market that they lost sight of what was most important - the quality. With version 1.0.0, simple items like new commands and a fresh gameplay balance should be added.

User feedback was collected and analyzed for this purpose using social media and in-game polls. Version 1.0.0 introduces the following new features:

  • To make the defense more intuitive, the default button setting has been changed. Furthermore, key combinations from prior PES games have been reintroduced.
  • Demanding possession with the "Shoulder Charge".
  • Regain possession by putting pressure on the opponent's ball holder.
  • Match: Trouble the opposing dribbler with a lowered stance and finer strides. This is also effective in blocking passes and shots.
  • Improvements to defending as a team.
  • Increase in passing speed.
  • A new mechanism that uses the ball's rebound as an acceleration force. This is useful with one-touch passes, for example, as ball speed is increased through this mechanism.
  • With the new command "breathtaking pass" you can pass the ball to your opponent with various special movements.
  • Improved firing speed with a focus on realism and satisfaction.
  • Adapting the hit rate to the game's conditions.
  • The new "breathtaking shot" should provide more variants for goals.
  • Improved dribbling, including better ball tracking with the analog stick.
  • Other functional enhancements include better responsiveness and ball movement for the new Sharp Touch function, as well as easier feint control.
  • Numerous bug fixes, such as passing and enemy AI.

Konami also intends to reintroduce several elements from earlier PES editions. Individual instructions for individual virtual kickers, for example, will be available again in the future.
