Everyone went silent as Penelope Cruz stepped out
The beautiful actress appears in two films in the competition part of the Festival
Hollywood star Penelope Cruz is one of the guests at this year's Venice Film Festival, and she appears in two films in the competition part of the program.
One of them is Pedro Almodovar's new film called "Parallel Mothers", which opened the festival, and the other was presented on Saturday.
It is the film "Official Competition", a satire about the film industry in which Cruz plays the lead role, her partner is Antonio Banderas, and the director is Argentines Gaston Duprat and Mariano Cohn, who a few years ago achieved great success with "The Distinguished Citizen".
But Penelope Cruz isn’t the only star with more than one film at this year’s festival.
American actor Oscar Isaac plays a former soldier and gambler in Paul Schrader's drama "The Card Counter", and in the sci-fi film "Dune" directed by Denis Villeneuve, he embodies the father of Timothee Chalamet.
And Italian Tony Servillo has two films in competition this year. One is “The Hand of God” by award-winning director Paolo Sorrentino in which the main character recalls Naples from his youth, and the other is “The King of Laughter,” a depiction of the life of the actor and playwright Eduardo Scarpetta.
