Formentera Island - the best kept secret of the Mediterranean

Formentera Island is perhaps the best-kept secret of the Mediterranean, and having in mind that tourism is slowly recovering, it should be included in the list of destinations that are definitely worth visiting.

Formentera is the smallest and southernmost island of the Balearic Islands archipelago in Spain, and it combines the most incredible terms, wildlife, Balearic glamor and hippie atmosphere.

Soft sand on the beach, sun on your face, cocktail in hand, light enjoyment of a sluggish summer day… Formentera is certainly one of the best-kept secrets of the Mediterranean, thanks to divine untouched beaches, hippie charm and exotic energy. It is only a 35-minute ferry ride from the hedonistic Ibiza. However, there are some different rules there than are the case at the much more famous Ibiza sister. The hippie vibe of this small island is very firmly rooted, and is an integral part of everyday life, thanks to the original hippie team who spent their summers there in the sixties.

With only 20 kilometers in length and 8 kilometers in width, Formentera is the perfect size to explore on a scooter or bicycle, which means you can easily reach those tucked-away gems and hidden beaches that are otherwise the main assets of the island.

With seemingly infinitely shallow waters, the whole area is perfect for family vacations. Apart from swimming in the crystal clear turquoise sea, you can also try all water sports and activities here. And of course, all that slowly, with measure, because on the island, hurry and nervousness are almost eradicated.

It should be noted that the distance from the motherland of Spain was beneficial for the locals in these difficult times, so there are almost no people infected with coronavirus, which makes Formentera an ideal post-pandemic destination that must be known. So, do not hesitate and visit this island!
