"Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire" - new details and photos are out!

In the original films, a few selected characters were assigned to be on the front lines and face New York's most terrifying enemies. These were mainly Peter Venkman played by Bill Murray, Ray Stantz by Dan Aykroyd, Egon Spengler by Harold Ramis and Winston Zeddemore by Ernie Hudson. And the host of the whole show in the background was Janine Melnitz (Annie Potts), the receptionist who kept everything functional.

But the upcoming "Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire", will bring back the original Ghostbusters along with a new generation of cast members. This time, Janine also becomes a real Ghostbuster. And that's why, in addition to Venkman, Ray and Winston, we also have Janine on one of the freshly published Empire covers. The second cover features a new cast consisting of Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard and McKenna Grace. The interesting thing about these covers is that they are the first ones that, in this case, quite appropriately glow in the dark.

The Spengler family returns to where it all began - the iconic New York firehouse - to team up with the original Ghostbusters, who have developed a super-secret research lab to take exorcism to the next level. But when the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to protect their home and save the world from another Ice Age.

As the end of Afterlife hinted at, Winston is key to the return of the original crew in the sequel and is responsible for reopening the firehouse. "Winston is now a rich man and is funding research into the new technology and science behind exorcism." - said Hudson for foreign media.

The rest of the cast includes Patton Oswalt as Dr. Hubert Wartzki, Kumail Nanjiani as Nadeem Razmaadi, James Acaster as Lars Pinfield and Emily Alyn Lind.

The film arrives in theaters on March 22.
