It is known who will play Abby in the 2nd season of the hit series "The Last of Us"!

The authors of one of HBO's most-watched projects, "The Last of Us" based on the popular video game series of the same name, Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, have revealed that they have found the actress for the key character of the second season, Abby.

Filming will begin in the spring. The role of the antagonist who will make life miserable for the main character, Ellie, played by Bella Ramsey, is taken over by the 27-year-old American actress Kaitlyn Dever, who made a name for herself with the role of Eva Baxter in the sitcom "The Last Man Standing ". Viewers remember her as the youngest daughter of married couple Vanessa and Mike Baxter, who adores weapons and becomes a cadet at the military academy. By coincidence, Kaitlyn will also portray a character who deftly handles weapons in the second season of "The Last of Us", a post-apocalyptic story in which the human race fights for survival in a world destroyed by a parasitic fungus. According to HBO's description, it is about "a skilled soldier whose black-and-white view of the world is challenged as she seeks revenge."

Namely, the script of the second season follows Ellie, a girl immune to the scourge that ravaged the world, after escaping from the hospital where she had to pay with her life for the creation of a cure for a parasitic fungus. Among the hospital staff that Ella's companion and friend Joel (Pedro Pascal) had to eliminate to save her, was also Abby's father.

"Our casting process for Season 2 was identical to Season 1: We're looking for world-class actors who can embody the souls of the characters. Nothing is more important to us than talent, and we're thrilled to have an actress like Kaitlyn to join Pedro, Bella, and the rest of our family," stated Craig and Neil Druckmann in a joint statement.
They chose a rising star who already has two nominations for the Golden Globe, for the main roles in the mini-series "Unbelievable" and "Dopesick". The series broke the viewership record last year because the finale of the first season was watched by 8.2 million fans.

NEW: “Curb Your Enthusiasm” is officially ending with Season 12!
