High society turned upside down in the new trailer for "Feud: Capote vs. The Swans"
Ryan Murphy's anthology series returns with an all-star cast!
The feud is brewing again on FX with a new trailer for the second installment of Ryan Murphy's hit anthology series, "Feud: Capote vs. The Swans". With a star crew led by Naomi Watts and Tom Hollander, the new season recalls the bitterness between the famous writer Truman Capote (Hollander) and his Swans, the elite high society women who once made up his inner circle.
After gaining their trust and becoming their confidant when he reached to their deepest and darkest secrets, he burned all bridges by exposing them all with a thinly veiled excerpt from his book "Answered Prayers". The trailer reveals anger at his actions.
Appropriately set to Linda Ronstadt's "You're No Good," the trailer begins by showing the traps of high society - "Sex, money and endless adventure."
The women who live in this world, like Barbara "Babe" Paley (Watts), Slim Keith (Diane Lane), C.Z. Guest (Chloë Sevigny), and Lee Radziwill (Calista Flockhart) use their beauty and sophistication to hide what's going on behind closed doors.
Capote, however, listens to all the affairs and scandals and enjoys the gossip as a friend of those women. After he publishes a text revealing who these women really are, the Swans vow not only to cut him off from high society but to destroy him. Their lives are thrown into chaos, but Capote does only what he believes a writer should do - he delivers something "bloody, gritty, and real".
"Capote vs. The Swans" draws inspiration from the book "Capote's Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal". For Capote, the series will follow his descent into self-destruction fueled by his breakdown and subsequent banishment from high society.
The series also stars Demi Moore as Ann "Bang-Bang" Woodward, Molly Ringwald as Joanne Carson, Joe Mantello as Jack Dunphy, Russell Tovey as John O'Shea and the late Treat Williams in one of his final roles.
We will follow the argument between Capote and the Swan from January 31.
