NEW: The trailer for "Death and Other Details" is out!

Mandy Patinkin takes a central position in the "Death and Other Details" series. These are extremely anticipated new murder mystery series from Hulu, whose first trailer we got to see today. The series takes place in the glamorous world of the global elite, with the central character Imogene Scott ( Violett Beane ), whose brilliance is matched by her restlessness. In this series, Patinkin plays the greatest swordsman, Inigo Montoya, the world’s greatest detective.

Unfortunately, Scott finds herself at the center of a murder mystery due to a combination of bad timing and her own reckless actions, making her the prime suspect. That is the best combination, is it?

The story is set on a luxuriously renovated Mediterranean ocean liner, and the suspects range from pampered guests to tired crew members. In order to clear her name, Scott is forced to work with Rufus Cotesworth (Patinkin), a man she hates who is also known as the world's best detective.

The creators of the series are Mike Weiss and Heidi Cole McAdams. In addition to Patinkin and Beane, in the series will also star Lauren Patten, Rahul Kohli, Angela Zhou, Hugo Diego Garcia, and Pardis Saremi.

"While the show is set in our present day, the story owes a debt to golden age detective novels," showrunners Mike Weiss and Heidi Cole McAdams have previously told foreign media. "And where Knives Out might have been inspired by 70's detective paperbacks, we were aiming at something a little bit more classical," they added.

If you’re a fan of "The White Lotus" and "Knives Out", "Death and Other Details" seems to be right up that alley. The case won't be solved in one day! The 10-episode series will arrive on Hulu on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, with two episodes, and after that one episode will arrive weekly until the two-episode finale on March March 5.
