Hollywood predator soon in court in California!

Judge Kenneth Case in New York opened the possibility for famous Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein to be extradited to California to face charges of rape and sexual abuse, almost a year after prosecutors from Los Angeles requested that the convicted former film producer be sent to California.

Case rejected the arguments of Weinstein's legal team that the papers for that transfer are not ready and that Weinstein (69) should stay in New York in order to receive the necessary medical care, reports Reuters.

"If California doesn't pick up Mr. Weinstein within a reasonable time, be sure to come back to see me," Case told Norman Effman, a lawyer representing Weinstein.

Prosecutors in Los Angeles plan to extradite Weinstein in late June, no later than mid-July, so that he could face an 11-count indictment charging him with assaulting five women from 2004 to 2013.

Weinstein's other lawyer, Mark Werksman, said in an email that Weinstein was appealing Case's decision and asking a judge in Los Angeles to block the extradition until he received the medical care he needed in New York.

Weinstein is serving a 23-year prison sentence after he was convicted in Manhattan in February 2020 for sexually assaulting an assistant in 2006 and raping an actress in 2013. He appealed to the verdict and the sentence and denied that he had sexual intercourse without consent.
