How David Jason, the famous Del Boy, fulfilled a great dream that no one but him believed in
He managed to eventually accomplish what he said to his friend!
David Jason conquered the world by playing the character of Derek "Del Boy" Trotter in "Only Fools and Horses", and before he became an actor, he had another occupation.
Namely, in the sixties of the last century, as a young man, he enrolled in college and over the years perfected the craft of an electrician. This info is stated in his autobiography "A Del of a Life: The Lessons I've Learned".
Young David started as an electrician, but he had one big dream, which seemed unattainable at the time. He revealed it to his friend Bob when they were once driving past Buckingham Palace.
"You know what, Bob? One day, I will be brought there (to Buckingham Palace) to collect my knighthood - David Jason once said, as reported by the website mylondon.news.
And in the end, it was so. David Jason left his job as an electrician and devoted himself to acting. At the beginning of the eighties, he acted in the famous series "Only Fools and Horses", and the character of Del Boy brought him world fame and made him a comedy legend.
This enabled him to accomplish his big, boyish dream because in 2005 he received the title of a knight in Buckingham Palace.
David Jason is a multi-award-winning actor. He has received 5 BAFTA Awards (1988, 1991, 1997, 2003, 2004), four British Comedy Awards, and seven National Television Awards (NTA).
