Stable, proud, confident, and dedicated - this is how their friends describe Denzel and Pauletta's marriage. They met in the late 1970s while filming the TV movie “Wilma”.
Denzel has his anecdotes about their relationship, which he often jokes about when he remembers those times. He said that at their first meeting, Pauletta had to pay for a taxi because he did not have enough money to cover the entire bill.
She turned him down twice when he proposed, and she agreed only the third time. They were married in June 1983. Denzel didn't have the brightest family model. He said that his parents instilled good values in him, but they divorced when he was 14 years old.
