How to poach eggs perfectly
Try to avoid adding vinegar, because it gives the egg a strange taste
Many people love to eat poached eggs, but rarely does anyone know how to make them really look right, and at the same time be delicious. If you have ever made them or watched the preparation, you know that it is a method of cooking eggs in water. Now, if you thought there was nothing complicated about it, you're wrong. To prepare poached eggs, you need skill, but also experience.
At Tik-Tok, we often come across various tips, both regarding home maintenance and culinary ones, and this time we came across a video posted by British chef Paul Foster. Namely, he decided to record and share with us a trick thanks to which poached eggs will be perfectly prepared, and along the way, he pointed out the mistakes that everyone makes.
“Take a pot of water and never add vinegar” - he says in the video. “Add a pinch of salt, and then take the freshest possible egg, left at room temperature, and put it in a strainer, which will allow the watery parts of the egg white to pass through it. Heat the water in a deeper pan, then reduce the heat just before boiling and stir” - says Paul in his video.

After that, you need to add the egg, and he notes in the video that you don't have to mix it and create a vortex, because mixing will actually only help the egg to "harden" and not be nicely cooked. Then, this chef also mentions that it is very important that the whole cooking process takes exactly two minutes, so it would be good to set a kitchen timer, so as not to "miss" the time.
After those two minutes, gently pull the egg out of the water with a hollow spatula and remember: Never add vinegar, because it gives the egg a strange taste. “Drain it on a paper towel, before putting it on the toast, because otherwise, the excess liquid will soften the bread. And then just spice it up. A little sea salt and ground black pepper is enough” - Paul's advice.
