Is Queen Letizia dressing inappropriately?

Members of royal families' clothing combinations are constantly analyzed by the public, particularly those females in more prominent positions. They have their dress code.

Many others think, however, that such laws are outdated and unneeded since it is obvious, for example, that a queen would never allow herself to go down the red carpet in a bare dress, as we see on the Hollywood red carpets, thus there is no need for such severe involvement in their clothing.

On the other hand, even some basic and exquisite costumes are too provocative for certain conservative followers of events from the royal courts.

This time, their target is Queen Letizia, who is widely regarded as one of the best-dressed members of the royal family.

Letizia arrived at the Royal Theater in Madrid with her husband to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the death of Antonio de Nebri, a great Spanish humanist, philologist, and lexicographer. The Queen donned an unassuming black dress by Emporio Armani for the event, which she paired with a black purse.

Critics on social media were bothered by the side slit on her dress. ‘Too high a slit for someone with her title’, ‘is she a queen or an actress’, ‘why is she constantly showing off her legs’, ‘a dress like this to commemorate the anniversary of her death is a bad choice’, are just some of the negative comments on her account.

A hundred individuals, a hundred tastes and opinions, but we can only conclude that Letizia was as elegant as ever, dressed modestly and appropriately for the queen.

Letizia, the present queen of Spain, is a former journalist and newscaster. She is the first commoner to be crowned Queen of Spain.

She was born into a middle-class family, her father was a journalist. While working at local newspapers to fund her studies, she received a comprehensive education in media and journalism. She began her career as a journalist in Mexico before moving to Spain to work in television journalism.

She worked for several stations and covered a wide range of breaking news items. At a reception, she met Prince Felipe VI, with whom she dated for a year. They married in Madrid shortly after announcing their engagement. She began doing her royal duties soon after and traveled widely around Spain and the world.
