Joan Collins shocked her fans with confession
Joan Collins has been married five times, all shocked by the confession of her first husband, who harassed her on a first date.
Legendary actress Joan Collins (88) told some unknown details about her five marriages in the new documentary and shocked everyone by admitting that her first husband raped her on their first date.
For Maxwell Reed, she told she married because of shame after he raped her, and later he tried to “sell” her to older men for one-night sex for £ 10,000. "I was 17 and he was 31. He drugged me and I woke in the middle of the night and came to my senses. I was in his living room while he was having sex with me," the actress said.
After she filed for divorce from him, he asked her to pay him £ 950 a month because he thought he had discovered her. Today, she says that the marriage cost her as much as two million pounds in today's equivalent.
In a documentary broadcast on the BBC, Collins told many details from her life, and also referred to the meeting with Marilyn Monroe. It was Monroe who warned her of “Hollywood beasts,” including Daryl Zanuck, who later tried to harass her.
She got her first movie role at the age of 17, and now she says that her father was not thrilled with her career choice, because he was an agent who discovered talents.
"My father didn't want me to be in the world of show business because he knew all about it. He thought I was going to leave by age 24 because he knew what kind of men were in that business," Joan said.
She stood in front of the altar for the second time in 1963, and married pop star Anthony Newley, with whom she had two children, Tara and Alexander. They spent six years together, and with her third husband, Ron Kass, she stood in front of the altar in 1972, and they married and had a daughter, Katy. A great tragedy struck her family when her daughter Katy had an accident. She was hit by a car and suffered a terrible brain injury. "Katy's accident is the worst thing that has happened to me in my life. The doctors told me that she was going to die," says the famous actress.
She divorced her third husband in 1983, and at a party, she met Peter Holm, her fourth husband. She was at the peak of her career at the time because it was then that the series "Dynasty" was broadcast, in which she played the legendary role of Alexis Carrington.
“None of my friends believed him, but I was in love,” Joan says today. Percy Gibson is her fifth husband. He is 32 years younger than her. They got married in 2000. "We were madly in love, I finally found my soulmate," says the legendary actress for her fifth husband.
Although she talks about many without hesitation, there are still a few people she doesn’t want to say what she thinks about.
“I think they’ve been getting enough attention in the press lately,” she coldly answered when she was asked by reporters what she thought of Harry and Meghan Markle.
The actress reveals her political views in a column she writes for the conservative British newspaper Spectator, and in an interview, she also reveals that she “currently supports the Tories” .
