Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder's love story
Amber laughed at Johnny's tattoo dedicated to a woman who considers her a liar.
Former Hollywood love and marriage couple Amber Heard and Johnny Depp are today angry opponents at the ‘trial of the year’ during which new harrowing details from their relationship leak out every day and the law teams of both stars try to prove who the abuser is.
Part of the trial involved an alleged Amber Heard incident in which she laughed at a tattoo Depp made in memory of ex-girlfriend Winona Ryder. Winona was attending high school when she got an engagement in the film ‘Big Fireballs’. This movie was about rock’n’roll pianist and singer Jerry Lee Lewis, and her partner in the film was Dennis Quaid. At a party after the premiere, the then 17-year-old actress met seven-year-older Johnny Depp.
They fell fatally in love and after just a few weeks they started living together. Their relationship developed extremely quickly and they got engaged after only five months, but they never got married.
During the time they spent together, Depp told Rolling Stone: ‘During my 27 years there was nothing that could compare to the feeling I have with Winona. It's like this weird bound atom or something. You may think that something is real, but it is different when you feel it indeed '.
Winona was surprised when Johnny made a tattoo on his arm that said ‘Winona forever’, which he later changed to ‘wine forever’.
She expressed her surprise at the accusations against her ex in an official statement submitted to the American court.
The 50-year-old actress said: 'Obviously I wasn't there during his marriage to Amber, but, from my experience, which was so different, I was absolutely shocked, confused and upset when I heard the accusations against him. The idea that he is an incredibly violent person is the furthest away from Johnny whom I knew and loved. I can't understand these accusations. He was never violent or abusive to anyone I saw in his company.'
Why did they break up?
Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder broke up in 1993, suggesting that they had a hard time because of media pressure on their relationship. They believed that interest in their love life would disappear if they were open and honest with reporters, but that didn’t happen. Johnny told the Los Angeles Times: 'It's very difficult to have a personal life in this city.'
‘In my relationship with Winona, my mistake was that we were so open. I thought that it would destroy the monstrous curiosity of the public if I were open. It was absolutely the opposite. ' Johnny added.
Winona described the breakup as a period in which she felt ‘completely lost’. 'I locked myself in the house, listened to Tom Waits and got drunk to the point of unconsciousness. I was ashamed of all that, but don't forget that I was really young then', she described.
