Karl Lagerfeld fans, get ready!

The personal belongings of the late designer Karl Lagerfeld, including his trademark - leather fingerless gloves and pillows on which his cat Choupette sat - will be put up for sale at a series of auctions starting in Monaco this week.

Lagerfeld, who passed away in 2019, was an icon of the fashion industry, celebrated both for his distinctive personal style - gloves, sunglasses, and a ponytail and for the fashion he designed for Chanel and other houses.

The collection of items, which Sotheby’s is selling at auction, contains items from his personal wardrobe as well as furniture and artwork that have adorned his many homes.

Also on sale is the Choupette pillow, valued at 5,000 to 7,000 euros, and a Lagerfeld figurine made of PVC, metal, and pebbles, valued at 200-300 euros.

Also on sale are suitcases that Lagerfeld carried on trips, three Rolls-Royce cars, and a pair of chrome dumbbells owned by a famous designer aware of his body.

"This collection is a symbol of Karl Lagerfeld's taste," Pierre Mothers, vice president of Sotheby's in France, told Reuters at the presentation of the collection.

"It gives a sense of his aesthetic choices, his personality, as he was privately, hidden behind the facade we all know, a great designer."
