Kylie Minogue returns to Australia after 30 years: 'She wants to see her family as much as possible'

Music star Kylie Minogue is returning to Australia after 30 years of living in the UK. The 53-year-old singer decided to return to her home country to be closer to her family, and she made the decision after staying in Australia during the lockdown.

"It's something she's been thinking about for a long time. This year, when she was in Australia for a long time because of the travel ban, she had time to think about where she wanted to be her base. Like many artists, she spends much of her life touring or traveling. "It's not going to be a big change since she doesn't spend much time in one place anyway. Corona has given her a long period to think about the future, and she wants to see her family as much as possible when she's not traveling, so Australia will be her home," said a source close to the singer.

Kylie Minogue has already changed the address for her four main businesses in the documents, so now it is based in Hawthorn, a suburb of Melbourne. She also changed her address as a director from one in England to an Australian one. In addition to the singer’s parents Carol and Ron, Kylie’s brother Brendan and sister Danii also live in Australia, as does her nephew Ethan.

But the decision to relocate was unlikely last year. In an interview Minogue gave last September, she said her boyfriend Paul Solomons would not want to move.

"Paul is Welsh but has lived in London for almost 20 years. He just doesn't want to be housed in Australia. I have a British and Australian passport, but I think some people have already forgotten I'm Australian," said Kylie in a podcast at the time.

But according to more recent information, the 46-year-old Paul left his job in London last month, and will have more time to spend with Kylie in Australia, but also to make the move easier.
The couple is currently still in the UK as Kylie prepares new songs but also makes plans for a permanent relocation.

"It won't change anything important in Kylie's life except the place she will call home. Her love for London and the UK is unquestionable, she will still spend a lot of time there," a source close to Kylie stressed.
