The initiative was launched by the international organization PETA, but also some companies for the production of cosmetic products and more than 100 organizations for the protection of animals.
Supporting this valuable initiative, Paul McCartney said that we all were in a delusion when we thought the fight was over and animal testing of cosmetics in Europe was a thing of the past, but unfortunately, it is not. The European Chemicals Agency continues to demand the use of thousands of rabbits, rats, fish, and other animals in cosmetic ingredient testing. But now, we can help put an end to all of the this.No animals should suffer for beauty. So if you are an EU citizen, sign on savecrueltyfree.eu a European Citizens' Initiative to sign the ban. That is one minute of our time and it will help save the lives of innocent animals.
Numerous organizations are urging citizens to sign the initiative and thus ask the European Union to support and strengthen the existing ban on testing cosmetics on animals.
PETA supported McCartney and wrote that thousands of animals are still forced to inhale or otherwise inject cosmetic ingredients into their bodies in experiments required by the European Chemicals Agency. The ban on animal testing in the European Union has been a worldwide success. All of this is now under threat due to new requirements for testing ingredients that have been declared safe for years and testing can be avoided.
For the initiative to be successful, it needs the support of one million citizens of the European Union, regardless of where they live. Animal Friends, therefore, urges everyone to listen to Paul McCartney, not only his songs but also his plea, to act in the interests of both animals and humans and choose to contribute to a society in which the suffering of the innocent will be kept to a minimum.
"No major medical breakthrough has resulted from the torture of animals in laboratories, and animal testing cannot accurately predict the consequences on the human body. It is time to turn to humane methods and close the chapter on mutilation, blindness, starvation, and psychological torture forever. ” Animal Friends concludes.
