Meryl Streep is the queen of acting, and one role really bothered her!

Meryl Streep is considered one of the best actresses of today, and some rightly call her the "queen of acting". The Hollywood star, who turned 72 on June 22, has masterfully played all her roles so far and amazed viewers around the world.

However, one role scared Meryl herself. Namely, in the late 1990s, Streep got the opportunity to play the character of Roberta Guaspari in the film "Music of the Heart" directed by Wes Craven. It was not an easy task, even for an experienced actress.

It was clear that she was hesitant to accept the challenge. She first accepted the project, then left, and then decided to return to it. She had to quickly prepare for the role, but the real challenge had yet to be overcome - to learn to play the violin. She didn't even know how to sing, let alone handle one of the most complicated instruments.

She practiced every day for two months before filming, for five or six hours a day. Meryl eventually managed to deal with this "problem", and her role in the film "Music of the Heart" brought her an Oscar nomination.

By the way, Streep later had to learn to play the guitar for the needs of the 2015 film "Ricki and the Flash".

Wes Craven's "Music of the Heart" from 1999 is based on a true event. Roberta Guaspari (Meryl Streep) is the co-founder of the music school Opus 118 Harlem and fought to finance music education in public schools in New York.

The film also stars Aidan Quinn, Gloria Estefan (her debut film), and Angela Bassett. It was the first and only director of Wes Craven that is not in the horror or thriller genre and at the same time his only film that received Oscar nominations.
