Movie marathon: Cameron Diaz and the romantic comedies we're watching this holiday season!

New Year's euphoria does not only mark the beginning of the party season, glitter and all that glamor but often represents a time of snuggle-up filled with the smell of cinnamon and hot drinks.

The Holiday

We kick off the Cameron Diaz-starring movie marathon with the ultimate holiday treat that we can unquestionably watch over and over again. The movie "The Holiday" is about two women from different backgrounds who decide to switch homes during the holidays in order to escape complicated love entanglements. And don't be fooled by the fairy-tale atmosphere, this is not a film about perfect relationships and soul mates. In addition to Cameron, the film also stars Kate Winslet, Jude Law, and Jack Black.

What Happens In Vegas

The film "What Happens In Vegas" tells about the crazy night in Las Vegas during which Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher get married. However, the drama begins when they hit the casino jackpot. Their simple plan to get a quick divorce and split the three million dollars becomes almost impossible. A cunning judge freezes the award and refuses to annul the marriage, and Ashton (Jack) and Cameron (Joy) are trapped trying to make their impromptu marriage work.

My Best Friend's Wedding

Although in the film "My Best Friend's Wedding" the main female role is played by Julia Roberts, the character of Cameron Diaz had a crucial role in this production. Namely, the story revolves around childhood friends Julianne Potter (Julia Roberts) and Michael O'Neal (Dermot Mulroney), who had an agreement to get married if they remained single until the age of 28, and only four days before Julianne's birthday, Michael announces the engagement to a beautiful twenty-year-old Kimberly (Cameron Diaz). Julianna then realizes that she is in love with her best friend and vows to stop the wedding. However, Kimberly appoints her as a maid of honor and that's where things get much more complicated.

The Something About Mary

Last, but not least – the romantic comedy "The Something About Mary" tells the story of journalist Ted Stroehmann who, thirteen years after his failed prom night, decides to find the girl he was supposed to go on a date with. Ted hires a private detective who soon finds a certain Mary with whom Ted is still in love. The plot begins when Detective Healy becomes enchanted with Mary and begins to lie to his client in order to win her over. The role in this film brought Cameron Diaz a nomination for the Golden Globe and the MTV Award for Best Actress.
