Netflix brings an interesting mini-series "You Are What You Eat: A Twin Experiment"

Thanks to Netflix, the beginning of 2024 is going to be interesting. We will have the opportunity to watch the interesting limited mini-series "You Are What You Eat: A Twin Experiment". The first trailer for this mini-series is out!

Experts claim that what we put into the body is much more important than anything else and that a diet plan can incredibly change the entire biology. The problem with investigating different ways of eating, in search of the healthiest one, is always that each of us is unique and our body reacts differently to different kinds of foods. But what if we take people who are genetically the same? And that's where twins who share the same DNA come in to try to see if it's food or genes. The experiment was therefore designed on identical twins, each of whom will start on his own diet and lead a certain lifestyle so that after eight weeks we could definitely see results of how food affects our body. One starts on a diet that includes meat and dairy products, and the other starts a diet based on vegetables.

This interesting documentary series is brought by Louie Psihoyos, the director of the acclaimed documentary "The Game Changers" from 2018 and he is also the Oscar winner for the best documentary in 2010 (The Gulf).

For the randomized controlled test, the team recruited 22 pairs of healthy adult identical twins via the Stanford Twin Registry. That is a database of twins who have signed up to participate in the study. At the outset of the study, the researchers drew participants’ blood and recorded their weight. Then they assigned one twin from each pair to follow a vegan diet for eight weeks, and the other to an omnivorous diet.

"You Are What You Eat: A Twin Experiment" arrives on streaming on January 1, 2024. We are sure that this time Netflix made a great move!
