NEW ELECTRIC PORSCHE MODELS ARE COMING

In addition to charging, the announced electric models also attracted attention, in the first place the next generation 718 Boxster / Cayman, will be available only in electric form.

Porsche has announced its own network of charging stations for electric cars, and that it plans to have 80% of cars sold by 2030 as electric models.

In addition, two more electric vehicles are being prepared - Macan and 718, which are there to confirm the direction in which the manufacturer is moving.

Owners of electric Porsche vehicles are currently relying on charging stations from other companies, and the first units of this manufacturer should change that, as they will be located next to busy roads in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland, by the end of the year.

The stations will be intended only for owners of electric and hybrid Porsche vehicles, and it is expected that the investment will affect the sales of EV models of this company.

In addition to charging, the announced electric models also attracted attention, in the first place the next generation 718 Boxster / Cayman, will be available only in electric form.

The announcement comes from the annual conference during which the 911 Hybrid was confirmed. The third electric car (after the Taycan appeared and the Macan EV was announced) - the sports model 718 should arrive by 2025.

Thus, the next-generation Macan, 911 Hybrid, and 718 Boxster / Cayman should help Porsche reach its decarbonization targets: 50% of annual sales by 2025 should be hybrids and electric cars, while by 2030 80% of vehicles sold are planned to be electric models only.

Innovative wireless electric car charger during parking

At the moment, automobile owners must manually connect the charging port in order to replenish the vehicle's battery. As a result, the ability to wirelessly charge electric vehicles while they are parked would be useful.

Watt (Wireless Advanced Transportation Charging Tile) is a parking spot stop that will allow wireless charging of an electric vehicle (EV).

At the same time, this solves the problem of obtaining a parking spot when other EV owners are waiting in line at a crowded charging station. The creators of this concept also hope to alleviate another issue with EVs, notably battery drain when the vehicle is parked in colder climates. Lithium-ion batteries, like those in our smartphones, deplete quickly in cooler temperatures.

The proposed product would include an associated application that would begin the charging cycle as soon as the vehicle was parked in such a parking place. While recalling purchases, the user may track the current charge level, time to full charge, and other information on the phone.

You simply need to register with Watt once, and the app can check your charge history, the location of nearby Watt-enabled charging points, and payment options, among other things.
